DESCRIPTION:Duration: 2 days – 9am-4pmPrice: £145 (+VAT) per person \nCandidates will receive Paediatric First Aid  handbook and certification via our awarding body\, Highfield Qualifications. \nIf you’re working towards an NVQ in child minding\, education or nursery working\, then this course fulfils your obligation to receive paediatric first aid training. It complies with all NCMA guidelines and Ofsted requirements. This qualification includes topics that are regarded by the EYFS as being important to maintain good practice in the safe\, prompt and effective treatment of injuries and ill health of infants and children who are under the care of the trained personnel. \nConsidering your part time staff/ periods of absence and staff on trips for example\, do you have enough staff trained in Paediatric First Aid? \nUpon successful completion of this course\, candidates will: \n\n Understand the role and responsibilities of the paediatric first aider\n Be able to assess an emergency situation safely\n Be able to provide first aid for an infant and a child who is unresponsive and breathingnormally\nBe able to provide first aid for an infant and a child who is unresponsive and not breathingnormally\nBe able to provide first aid for an infant and a child who is choking\nBe able to provide first aid to an infant and a child with external bleeding\nBe able to provide first aid to an infant and a child who is suffering from shock\nUnderstand how to administer first aid to an infant and a child with bites\, stings and minorinjuries\nBe able to administer first aid to an infant and a child with a suspected fracture\nBe able to administer first aid to an infant and a child with head\, neck or back injury\nUnderstand how to administer first aid to an infant and a child with conditions affecting theeyes\, ears and nose\nUnderstand how to administer emergency first aid to an infant and a child with an acute medicalcondition or sudden illness\nUnderstand how to administer first aid to an infant and a child who is experiencing the effects ofextreme heat and cold\nUnderstand how to administer first aid to an infant and a child who has sustained an electricshock\n\nA maximum of 12 candidates per trainer/course ensures that quality is guaranteed \nCandidates will receive a Paediatric First Aid handbook and certification via our awarding body\, Highfield Qualifications \nAssessment method\nThis qualification is assessed by a practical demonstration and multi-choice/oral questioning.
